GRADING POLICY

Midterm (30%); Term Paper (30%); Final Exam (40%).

Attendance and class participation will earn a bonus of 1/3 letter grade (Example: B+ raised to A-).

TERM PAPER

Term paper should be typed, use an appropriate writing style, and have the correct grammar and spelling.

Term paper should be double spaced; stapled, not bound; start on first page.

Term paper will have five labeled parts: (1) Introduction, (2) Background, (3) Analysis, (4) Discussion, (5) Conclusions.

Students should submit three choices for topics (first, second, and third choice) on February 14/16 at 1100.

Topics will be assigned on February 21/23 at 1100.

Topic summary (200-words long) is due March 21/23 at 1100.

Term paper (5 pages limit; but references may be on page 6) is due May 2/4, at 1100.
