GRADING POLICY: Problem homework set (20%), other homework (pop quizzes, short essays, etc.) (20%), midterm exam (20%), term project (20%), final exam (20%). Perfect attendance and effective class participation will earn a bonus of 1/3 letter grade (Example: B+ raised to A-).

ATTENDANCE POLICY: Virtual attendance to class is required. Three or more unexcused absences will have a negative effect on your final grade.

TERM PROJECT: The project will consist of individual work on a topic selected from a suggested list, mutually agreed with the instructor. The report should be of professional quality; its length should not exceed 15 pages, including tables and figures. Text should be double-spaced. The oral presentation should be with a professional presentation tool (Example: Power Point).

ON CHEATING: All work is to be done individually. Instances of cheating will be dealt with following university policy, as stated in page 496 of the current University General Catalog.
