Week 8:  Midterm Exam (Monday October 19, 19:00-20:15)

Week 10:  Preliminary oral presentation (Monday November 2, 19:00-20:15)

Week 15:  Final oral presentations (Monday and Wednesday, December 7 and 9, 19:00-20:15)

Week 15:  Written report due (Wednesday, December 16, at 19:00)

Week 16:  Final Exam (Wednesday, December 16, 19:00-21:00).

GRADING POLICY: Essay (20%), Midterm (25%), Project (25%), Final (30%).

ESSAY: A 600-word document on a topic selected by your instructor. The best essay will be posted on the web.

PROJECT: The project will consist of individual work on a topic mutually agreed with the instructor. The report should be of professional quality; its length should not exceed 15 pages, including tables and figures. Text should be double-spaced. The oral presentations should be either with Power Point or online (HTML).
