HOMEWORK No. 1

  1. Calculate the celerity functions of the dynamic wave (Reproduce this figure).

  2. Use dimensionless wavenumbers varying smoothly between 0.01 and 1000.

  3. Use the same Froude numbers as in the example figure.

  4. Plot dimensionless relative wave celerity vs dimensionless wavenumber for the chosen set of Froude numbers. Use logarithmic scales.

  5. Use Excel and design the graph colors (Tutorial).
