HYDROSPHERE
The hydrosphere functions through the hydrologic cycle.
The hydrologic cycle is the continuous recirculatory movement of the waters of the Earth,
first forward inland, then backwards towards the seas.
The purpose of the hydrologic cycle is to carry the suspended solids (sediments) and dissolved solids (salts) from the continents to the sea.
The sediments originate in erosion; running water (rivers) always has the capacity to carry a certain amount of sediment (sands and silts).
