CIVIL ENGINEERING AND GEOGRAPHY
Civil engineers and geographers now work together as teams using GIS
for spatial analysis and modeling.
Modeling [particularly the temporal modeling of dynamical systems] is often done by the
engineers, while data handling is performed by the geographers.
Geographers also work in traditional civil engineering areas such as
urban planning, transportation, and hydrology.
Overlaps require engineers to understand the differences between
civil engineering, a physically based profession [requiring registration],
and geography, a social art/science discipline.
